(July 16th. Open to Astrid, Hiccup and myself ^^)
"Yo sooooon, you gots to get used to bein' so smoove, you dig?" Atticus hopped over a stone in the entrance, tripped and fell on his belly. "Oopsie!" He giggled and hopped up onto his feet, dusting himself off and grinning up at Hiccup. "Yo, I wanna hear it again! I want you to keep talkin' to me!"
He jumped onto the fountain in the center of the entrance and balanced, singing a little rap as he went.
"I got dat boom boom pow! Dem penguins jackin' mah style! They try to copy my swagger, I'm on that next fish now! I'm so 2008 you so 2000 and late! I've got that boom boom boom That future boom boom boom!"
"Hit it Hiccup!" He knelt on his knees and gestured towards Hiccup and wagged his tail waiting for Hiccup to finish the line.

It's not like it's been the most natural thing in the universe for me. I feel like a Terrible Terror thrown in with a Nightmare.
That was what Hiccup wanted to say. However, he found he couldn't say it. Or if he did try to say it that way he would probably get reprimanded for not being smooth. So much to keep in mind, so many different things to say... it was much more difficult than it had been learning to fly with Toothless. And he was about as unsmooth as people from Berk came. Actually, he was the least smooth of all the Vikings. Even Snotlout, who was the epitome of foot-in-mouth disease syndrome, was smoother than he. But Hiccup had learned some. It was time to show off what he had learned. After all, it was just him and Atticus at the entrance. What could possibly go wrong?
"Okay... here we go."
Was it a good idea for him to attempt dancing? Probably not, but he was trying it all the same. He was going to have to, anyway. Standing there awkwardly at the entrance wasn't going to make the lesson any better, and the sooner he moved the better he would feel. On the plus side, he thought, his movements did feel just a little more natural as he moved toward the fountain. Now it was all a matter of really getting into the swing of it.
"Let me get it now
I'm on the supersonic boom Y'all hear the spaceship zoom When, when I step inside the room Them girls go ape-shit..."
He was beginning to wonder if he looked as foolish as he felt. The words weren't nearly natural enough to Hiccup for him to feel entirely comfortable, but they had come out all the same. Somewhere in the back of his mind, though, Hiccup thought that maybe everything wasn't going as smoothly as it seemed. But what? He and his penguin companion were all by themselves, weren't they? Who else could possibly be there?

Unfortunately for Hiccup, there was a spectator. She was currently arriving back at the mansion after grumpily storming around the island after discovering where she was now confined. The lock on her neck a constant reminder of the displeasure. Her happy expression at the familiar voice of the red headed teen had been wiped away. She'd heard the voice and made her way rather quickly to the entrance. The blonde now had one cocked eyebrow and her jaw dropped. Face palming seemed to small for what she wanted to do right now.
She visibly closed her eyes, and opened them again, as if that would make this all turn into a dream. What the hell was that? Astrid sighed inwardly. She couldn't decide if she should be laughing or slowly backing away. So she did the next best thing.
"So what exactly is this about girls going apeshit?" Astrid cleared her voice, icy eyes flickering with amusement. The blonde crossed her arms over her chest. This would be interesting. A smirk played lightly on her lips, she'd never let the red head live this down. In all honesty she had no clue what the little fuzzball nor Hiccup were talking about. They made no sense. Spaceship? Supersonic boom? And they seemed to have adapted some sort of rhythm to their words that couldn't be described as singing. If this island and game hadn't been so confusing and weird already, this might have had a larger effect on her.
Maybe she should be dragging Hiccup off the island in case this was some sort of after effect of being on it so long? Or slap sense into him. That always seemed effective. As it was though, she was holding in laughter.
"And what the hell were you just doing?" She quizzed, referring to the dancing. She'd never seen that before. Certainly not from Hiccup. The teen always managed to come up with some sort of surprise. "And Hiccup... I don't think you could blame the gods on this one." Her smirk grew instantly wider, remembering Hiccup's tendency to blame the gods for hating him. She'd never let him forget this. It was too funny.
((This post doesn't hold as much win as yours D: So i shall bow before you two for your amazing awesomesauce xD))

Confidence levels dropped almost instantly when he finally caught sight of their spectator. Not only had he probably made himself look foolish, but he'd probably sounded very, very strange as well. Then again, he was Hiccup. The very definition of weird as far as Berk was concerned was standing right in front of Astrid, frozen, and uncertain of how best to go about explaining himself. Atticus had said this was the best way to attract ladies, and apparently Astrid had been attracted, but he wasn't certain of what he was feeling now that he had actually achieved it. Embarrassment? Confusion? Hiccup had no idea.
"Uh... that is to say... I uh..." Hiccup stammered, losing his cool rather quickly, and seemed to be floundering for an explanation. The gods couldn't be blamed this time, that much he knew. His new words seemed to be failing him as well. He couldn't think of anything to say to explain himself.
Okay. This is awkward. Well, don't just stand there. Say something!
"I was hanging with my home boy Atticus."
Boom. The least smooth way of explaining himself ever had been used in explaining himself. Hiccup flinched visibly, realizing that he had blurted out his explanation without thinking of switching to regular speech. Was that a good thing? Definitely not. It had probably made the situation even more awkward.

Atticus giggled as he turned towards Hiccup, grabbing his tummy and laughing. He loved Hiccup's singing but he stopped suddenly and Atticus wanted to know why. Fluffy little furball turned to see a pretty lady alien standing in front of them. Atticus looked from Hiccup to Astrid then to Hiccup again. Then he grinned. Leaping down from the fountain and standing in front of the alien girl he smiled up at her.
"Yo, my name's Atticus, Miss alien," he said, "Hiccup an' I was just singin' and actin' fly. I gots to teach this fool how to swag before he can get no ladies, you see what I'm sayin'?" He held out his flipper to her so she could shake it.

The two seemed to speak an entirely different language now and a look of confusion crossed her face. "Uhm Hiccup... I don't know if you know this... but that's not a boy. And certainly not from home." To add to the confusion the bird thing decided to talk. Astrid wasn't able to follow what the little fuzzball was saying. She knelt down to accept the handshake, which was strange in itself. "Yah... Would you mind explaining that to me in English?" Astrid chided almost bitterly. "And Astrid. I'm not an alien, or whatever." She added rather grumpily. Tucking her bangs behind her ear unsuccessfully, she grinned at the penguin.
"Though i can agree with Hiccup being a fool." She teased, as if trying to hide just how confused she was. What was this 'swag' thing anyway. And what about Hiccup flying? Humans couldn't fly unless they were on dragons! She also doubted the little fuzzball could fly either, his wings were to small. So how were they flying? Astrid felt the verge of a headache coming on. "But I cannot understand you. At all." she added in, sending a glare to Hiccup at his crappy explanation.
Hiccup had gotten himself into some cult or something. Why else would he be speaking like this? This was a million times weirder than Hiccup's usual weird. Gone for a few days and this is what happens to Hiccup. She groaned to herself. Someone would have to start making sense soon.

Bitty penguin scratched his head with a flipper. He frowned and stared up at her. "I'm a boy," he said voice faltering, "Why you gotta be like that shortie? Home boy is like, friend. Why I gots to translate for every mother lovin' alien here. Y'all ain't heard nobody talk like this before? " Everyone at home understood him, what was the deal here? He was speaking plain penguin!
"I was just sayin' how I'm trying to teach my boy Hiccup here to be fly-to be cool-to be outa sight you know what I'm sayin'?" He tapped his foot on the ground, "He's getting there but it's gonna take a while, yo. An' I ain't mean no disrespect Astrid. S'what we penguins call y'all. Aliens, you know cuz your not native to our world! Hence, aliens." Wondering if Hiccup and Astrid came from a world with no penguins, Atticus peered up at Hiccup waiting for him to speak.

Fool. There was something Hiccup had hoped never to hear again, especially coming from Astrid. He'd known he'd been foolish, maybe even crazy, back home. He'd just hoped that no one would actually comment on that matter. Atticus' laughing on the matter didn't help much and finally caused the young Viking to feel rather embarrassed.
"No, no... he is a boy, it just means..." Hiccup found himself cut off by Atticus, something he was admittedly thankful for, and waited for the little fluffball to finish speaking. He'd been wondering for a while what the little guy thought of him and Astrid, mainly because he had never seen a penguin before coming to the island, so it was interesting to finally hear Atticus' terminology for them. Aliens... he guessed it was fitting. It made sense since neither of them had seen something like the other before. Hiccup must have looked particularly strange with his own unique features, but there would be time to dwell on that later.
"See, Atticus thought that maybe I could use help... uh... oh, how did he put it? ...Attracting the ladies? Yeah, I think that was it. But anyway, he thought I needed help. So... uh... he's been teaching me." Hiccup hung his head slightly as he finished speaking. Bad enough he had felt doofy to start with when they'd begun the lessons. Now he felt even stupider trying to explain it. "And... well, I don't get the alien thing either. But maybe that's how animals that aren't from Berk see us? I mean... I hadn't exactly seen a penguin before meeting Atticus." he said to clarify. He had to wonder if that was how Toothless and the other dragons viewed humans, too. Did they see them as some kind of strange species? That would definitely be something to explore more deeply later.

"No I meant like human boy. He's a pengui-" She gave up explaining and listened to the two boys. She still couldn't understand the little penguin but thought she got the jist of it. He wanted to make the red head 'cool.' It was an odd thought to see Hiccup acting like the penguin. Maybe she was taking his Hiccup-ness for granted. As she was pondering this she shrugged at Atticus's explanation of aliens. Okay it made sense. The same however could be used on the penguin. She'd never seen one in all her time on Berk. It was a fair explanation.
At Hiccup's other explanation Astrid raised an eyebrow as he hung his head. He still really doubted himself. So biting back the mean accusations riding at the tip of her tongue, Astrid took a deep breath. "Hiccup just tell them you saved an entire tribe and went one on one with an enormous dragon and won. I'd be fighting them all off with an axe." Astrid briefly looked away at the last part. He had to know she still cared right? "And gods forbid a teen who can befriend a Nightfury without being eaten could talk to some girls." Blue eyes rolled at the thought. Hiccup truly seemed to underestimate himself. Maybe that's what being in a new place did? With new people?
"I think aliens is probably a nicer name some animals call us. Since you know hunting and stuff some animals might call us something pretty nasty." It was an odd way to think of the animals. Maybe they really did see the humans as aliens. People did look very far off from the animals around them.

Fuzzy little penguin tilted his head to the side and blinked. Night Fury? Dragon? What were those? Atticus looked up at Hiccup for answers before turning to the viking girl. "Yo, what's a...night fury?" he asked, "Is it some kinda fish?" No ideas what anything this chick was talking about but when she mentioned hunting, he shivered.
"Huntin' and fishin'," he mused, "My Uncle Mumble once saved our fish supply by talkin' to the aliens. I always thought they didn't understand penguin but Uncle Mumble danced for 'em and boom! They stopped fishing so much in our water!" His little tail wagged at the thought. His Uncle Mumble was soooo cool.
"You wanna learn to rap and be fly too, Miss Astrid?" He asked sweetly.

"Right, like people here are actually going to care about what happened on an island they've never heard of. Or the fact that I ended up becoming a hero the hard way."
Hiccup found it difficult to not roll his eyes as he finished speaking. He'd brought his home up in conversation once before, and when he had it sounded as though no one knew what he had been talking about. With that in mind he was certain that no one would have believed him if he'd brought up dragons in conversation. Especially Toothless. On top of that, it probably wasn't a big secret that Hiccup was still having to deal with confidence issues. He wasn't Snotlout, so being all confident and such just didn't come naturally to him like it did his cousin. That was partly why he'd accepted Atticus' help. He'd wanted at least some reassurance that people he didn't know would think he was someone at least worthy of paying attention to. Of course, he didn't dare say this out loud. He didn't need Astrid knowing about how he still was rather lacking in the confidence department.
"I'm pretty sure the majority of people and animals around here have never even seen a real dragon. Why should they believe me if I told them about what happened with me and Toothless?" he asked. It was a fair question. Why bring up something that had happened at home when the majority would think it crazy?
Fortunately for Hiccup, Atticus decided to ask about what a Night Fury was. It seemed as though the conversation would at least briefly take a different turn. Though Hiccup was amused by the idea of Astrid attempting to become fly, he decided not to comment. He just didn't see Astrid going along with the idea. "A Night Fury is a very rare species of dragon... uh... well, think of this big lizard..." a sigh followed and he shook his head. Words didn't seem to be his strong suit that day. "Better idea. I'll just show you." Hiccup said. He pulled a small sketch book from his pants pocket, one he had been using to sketch some of the animals he'd seen around the mansion, and flipped to a little sketch he'd drawn of Toothless before coming to the island.
"Anyway, this is Toothless. He's a Night Fury and pretty much my best friend back home. I'm... guessing you've probably not seen all that many dragons before."

"Your uncle sounds... nice." Astrid added politely. It was odd though. How does said penguin convince humans to share? She had the feeling that penguins and people weren't always able to talk to one another. When he explained dancing Astrid was even more confused. How does dancing do that? She went through scenarios in her head where if any animal had come out of the forests of Berk and started dancing if that would ever effect her. It wouldn't. At Atticus's offer Astrid shook her head. "No thanks. I don't do that stuff." Astrid replied. It was an impossible idea. She couldn't even imagine herself acting or speaking like the penguin. Best leave it that way.
At Hiccup's words Astrid's lips turned into a firm line. She rolled her icy blue eyes. "So plenty of people like hero's!" the girl retorted icily. "Oh it's crazy to think a dragon's real but it's not crazy to believe that people and animals from who knows where all came to an island. It's also crazy to think that they're all able to interact. Isn't it also sooo crazy that someone on the island has a key to your lock or vice versa? Yep crazy and unbelievable!" the girl growled out. In her eyes, it wasn't crazy, how could it be? A rapping 'fly' penguin would've seemed particularly crazy on Berk. Here it was just the norm. She wasn't going to let it go. Viking stubbornness was to well bred into her. Though Hiccup also had equal stubbornness. All vikings did. It ran through their blood.
Astrid let Hiccup explain about Toothless, craning her neck slightly to peer at the drawing. It was odd how dragons were so unknown here. After all how could you miss a huge reptilian creature that breathes fire flying over your head?

Atticus strained his little neck up, standing on his tip toes to see Hiccup's drawing. It was fascinating. A beautiful creature with a body that was long, a round head and big eyes. It had wings as well, not like a skua or a penguin but weird leathery wings. He touched the sketchbook with a flipper. "Wooooow," he whistled, "That's tight man. Can he fly? We gots a puffin back home named Sven who can fly too but he ain't got wings like dat." He plopped back down on the ground and smiled up at Hiccup, his new friend, but frowned at Astrid.
"Yo, you gots to learn to loosen up, shortie," he said with a scoff, "Maybe if Hiccup an' I teach you how to be fly, you might be all loose and stuff, y'know what I'm sayin'?"

Choosing to ignore Astrid's comeback for the moment (mainly because, if he was being honest, he didn't know how to comeback with something of his own), and nodded a little in response to Atticus' question about Toothless being able to fly. "Yeah, he can fly... but not without my help. He lost one of his tail fins due to something that occurred when we first met, so I had to make him a new one and help him learn to fly again. It's pretty awesome... just flying through the air..." a sort of dreamy look appeared on Hiccup's face as he spoke. There was no denying that he missed his best friend and spending time with him. But the look faded after a moment. He needed to stay grounded in the current conversation.
"Anyway, maybe if we ever get off this island I could take you to Berk so you can meet Toothless." Hiccup suggested. What would the large black dragon even think of little, fluffy Atticus? He had no idea. But back to the topic at hand, he couldn't help himself when he realized Atticus was trying to suggest teaching Astrid to be fly again. He snickered a little at the idea. Astrid being fly? It was difficult to imagine.
"I don't know. Imagining Astrid being fly is a little weird." he admitted.

Astrid was mildly perplexed at the term shortie. She wasn't short... The penguin had some weird terms for people. Shortie must mean something different, he couldn't call her short at well... his size. So the blonde let it pass. She wasn't trying to figure out a comeback to her 'not being loose.' At Hiccup's snickering Astrid sent the boy a glare... and one of her signature punches with a "Hmph."
"Uh sorry Atticus but I just don't do 'fly.'" the blonde responded to the little penguin's suggestion. She did have to agree with Hiccup though. She really couldn't talk like Atticus and she didn't even want to attempt dancing. She was a viking and she did other things useful in battle. Not dancing. That was definitely not on her list of to-do's. "And well I'm loose... -er." Without dragons to fight Astrid still kept herself somewhat trained, but she no longer needed to fight dragons. So she had more time to do other things, like fly on Stormfly with Hiccup or hang out. So she was much looser.
"Thanks though. I'm really fine though." She'd be able to hold her ground no doubt. She rather liked talking normally. Switching topics, Astrid tried to redirect the attention to dragons. "Just imagine what everyone would think bringing a penguin home." the blonde mused. Most would probably be perplexed, and increasingly confused at the little guy's speech patterns. Amusing thought.
