(ooc: July 20th. Open mainly to newer characters for interaction. Apologies for the strange title.)
Rita adamantly refused to let herself get wrapped up in the nonsense that was supposed to be a game of love. The young mage was convinced she didn't need any of that. All she needed was a handful of good friends, her books, and the necessary things like food and water to have a decent life. So, she'd made a point of not conversing much with boys that might have been interested in her. That day in particular had been a good day of avoiding them. Rita had snuck away from the mansion early that morning and spent the day at the shopping center.
Presently, Rita had parked herself at a little table with an umbrella providing shade and her lunch in front of her. She hadn't really cared that much about what she'd gotten, and so had ended up with a crispy chicken sandwich and some french fries. She was digging in to the sandwich at that very moment, tearing at the item of food as if to release some pent up frustration, and was contemplating what else she could do with her day. Avoiding people wouldn't get her very far. Sooner or later she would have to converse with someone, and she decided it would be okay if she did so there. What was the worst that could happen?
Green eyes finally opened after a moment as she swallowed and looked up. Weird. There seemed to be less people walking about than there had been when she'd initially sat down. "Maybe they're starting to get the message that I shouldn't be pestered with that love nonsense." she chuckled. She didn't think she was going to get away with not talking to anyone for long, though. Sooner or later, someone was going to come up and talk to her.

Rapunzel had fallen madly, terribly, and thoroughly in love. With the island. It was the first place she'd ever been besides the tower. When thinking back to the tower walls, they looked foreboding, lonesome, and cold. They didn't seem like home. It couldn't have been, a place of confinement was no home. Her long, golden hair trailed behind her as she explored this shopping center. As of now, she was waiting in line for food. Emerald gaze swept over the area, taking in the sights and people. It was all so different and lovely! It seemed a permanent glow had taken place on her face, she was absolutely shining with excitement.
With a pleasant thank you, Rapunzel took her pasta. Maneuvering past people the blonde moved outside. Carrying the tray with the pasta bowl and a bread stick and some soda in the crook of her elbow she scoped for some open seating. She spotted a girl, seemingly younger than her. She dodged past chairs without spilling and plopped in a chair nearby. Everyone needed a friend right? If the girl didn't, she could easily leave.
"Mind if I sit here? This place is so.... HUGE!" the emerald eyed blonde exclaimed enthusiastically. Contrary to beliefs of people locked into towers their entire life, Rapunzel wasn't shy.

Rita wasn't all together surprised that someone had walked up to her. In a place like the shopping center, she could understand someone needing a place to sit down sooner or later. The girl in question appeared... strange, to say the least. The way she spoke reminded Rita of Estelle, and that was at least a little comforting to the young mage. While Rapunzel wasn't Estelle, at least knowing there were girls that were like her was enough.
"Go ahead. I figured someone would want to come up and join me sooner or later, so I can't really complain." Rita said. Much as she wanted to go about her usual ways and be more closed, she couldn't really see anywhere else for Rapunzel to go. Besides, it wasn't a guy speaking to her. She didn't think there was going to be anything risky in letting Rapunzel join her, especially with Yuri gone. He couldn't tease her about supposedly being romantically interested in anyone of the same gender.
"Name's Rita, by the way."

"Thank you." She replied politely. Rita. Nice name. Rapunzel inwardly acknowledged the fact. She couldn't really comment on any name being weird. Her name was strange itself. Rapunzel set her tray and drink on the table, then turned shyly to her side. She began to draw in the approximately 70 ft of long, golden hair to her side. No sense in having everyone step or spill on it. That'd be hell to get out later.
"I'm Rapunzel. nice to meet you. " the emerald eyed blonde introduced herself before spinning her fork in her pasta. She ate some pasta and took a sip of her drink. This was all so different and so new! Plus she was conversing with a stranger! Gothel had been wrong it seemed. These people weren't trying to harm her. "So Rita, are you here for the reason everyone else is here, or? " Rapunzel prodded lightly. She herself was an open book... unless the conversation came to her mother or her hair. That was where she'd skirt around the questions. There was still that paranoid part of her brain, planted by Mother to be wary of all stranger when it came to her hair. She did not want to be kidnapped.
"This place is so... wonderful." The girl added on taking another look around the area with fresh eyes. She'd never seen anything like it before, it wasn't in any of her books either.

Rapunzel? Well, it wasn't a name one heard every day, but she supposed she had heard stranger. Like Schwann. And Yuri. So, it wasn't all that surprising to Rita that she would hear another strange name. "Pleasure. I'm actually kinda glad I didn't end up alone... though mostly because it's not another guy pestering me." Rita said. Her statement was blunt, but it contained the truth. She hated how guys thought they had every right to try and flirt with her just because there was some game of love involved. Speaking of which...
"No, I'm not here to play the stupid game of love. If anything, I'm here to prove a point. Mainly that I don't need love." Rita explained. She spoke as though her statement was the most casual one in the universe before popping a french fry into her mouth and thinking over what else she could say. "The whole idea seems pretty dumb to me. I mean, I've looked at a couple of these locks. They all look the same to me. How's a specific key supposed to open any specific lock? For that matter, what does love have to do with it?" she asked. Well, the only lock she had gotten a good look at had been Pascal's... and that had only been because the doof of an Amarcian had left it sitting by the pool (only to reclaim it after Rita had gotten a look at it). She couldn't say for certain if every lock was the exact same.
"It doesn't help that some of the guys I've seen around here think that just because I have this stupid lock that means they have the right to flirt with me. I swear, they're worse than this one guy I ended up traveling with." she huffed.

Pink haired girl's ears perked up as she heard voices again. She was new to the island sure and didn't really get to know anyone, but that was a time for everything right? She told herself to remain hopeful that she would at least try to meet some new friends. The girls before her were like ones that she had never seen before, one with beautiful blonde hair and the other with brown. Compared to theirs, her hair seemed really abnormal.
"Uh...hello." she said walking over to them with her book bag in hand. "Could I join you?"

Rapunzel listened curiously to the teenager's explanation. The blonde didn't share the girl's opinion, however could respect it. To her the idea of love not existing for everyone seemed mighty absurd. However the blonde also had her priorities. When coming here the love thing was an added bonus. She was here to get away from the tower, explore a place other than 'home' and meet new people. If one happened to be her soul mate, then that was dandy. She'd yet to speak to many dudes. After all she wasn't your typical approachable girl. She was constantly in motion, and if that wasn't already an excuse not to converse with her, her nearly 70 ft of golden hair might make one think twice.
"Guys will be guys." Rapunzel nodded thoughtfully, when truthfully she didn't know squat. Besides the facts that Gothel had told her of men with pointy teeth, cannibals, ruffians, thugs, etc. etc. To her these beings were implied to have been everyone, when now she knew that they weren't. There were nice people out here like Rita. "Though i really can't say much on that matter." she added.
At the sight of the new girl Rapunzel shrugged. "Fine with me, I don't mind. Rita?"

With her rant wrapped up, Rita felt sufficiently better. She could respect that Rapunzel might not have felt the same way as her, and nodded a little when the blonde said that guys would be guys. Some guys were especially Raven-ish, but she supposed her lunchmate did have a point. Before she could say anything else, though, another girl appeared. This one had pink hair, but it didn't strike Rita as particularly strange. Estelle had pink hair, that girl Droite that had worked for Yeager had green hair, and Yeager himself had had blue hair. Pink wasn't all that out of the ordinary.
"Fine by me." Rita replied. It didn't seem like having anyone else conversing with them and having lunch would be all that bad. Having traveled with Yuri and the others had warmed Rita up somewhat to the idea of having people to converse with frequently.

The girl smiled, a small but shy smile as she did so and took a seat. "Thanks. I'm Madoka...Madoka Kaname." she said happily. She was going to have to get used to talking to people again. Half the time at her old school she didn't even talk to anyone. This was going to be a nice change of pace.

Tossing a toothpick into a nearby garbage can, a young pale ghost stood beside a Taco Bell. He spotted the girls immediately and grinned. With Kitty gone, the ghost was free to flirt to his heart's content with the females and any females for that matter. Smoothing his blonde locks, he floated over to the girls and placed his fingerless gloved palm down on the table. He raised his eyebrows and gave the girls a signature breath taking smile.
"Ladies," he said with a huff.

"Rita Mordio. Good to meet you."
Given her personality, Rita seemed to be a in an oddly pleasant mood. How long would that last? Mentally, she wagered it would be about a minute or so more before something pushed her back toward being her usual self. Right as she thought that, Johnny decided to float over to them and greet them in a way that seemed reminiscent of how Raven would act. That sort of behavior disgusted the redhead, but in keeping with her idea of trying to relax Rita opted not to blow up immediately. Besides, he wasn't blatantly trying to flirt with her in particular. Maybe she was just being too quick to judge. For the moment, she decided to just go along with talking to him.
"Hey. Haven't seen anyone like you around here before. Got a name?" she asked. Her best effort at being friendly to a guy that did, admittedly, irk her a tiny bit. She wasn't about to question why he looked so odd compared to her and the other two girls present at the moment. Rita could figure that out at a later opportunity.

"Well hi there Madoka! I'm Rapunzel!" The emerald eyed blonde responded to the girl brightly. She seemed shy and Rapunzel opted to be very bubbly and non-threatening. She continued to dig into her pasta, sipping her soda as well. Gothel had at least taught her manners. Heavens knew the woman would not stand sloppy eating. Or mumbling. Rapunzel proceeded to wipe her mind clean. Mother seemed very much on her head lately. Then again the raven haired woman was the only other being she'd known for quite some time.
Blonde head swiveled and looked up at the blonde, odd looking fellow. Presenting himself with a mere 'ladies.' Rapunzel looked at Rita, studying her face. Sure she hadn't known the girl long, but from her explanation on love, this man might be received as unwelcome. So when Rita acted calmly, Punzel decided the girl was not in the mood for fighting. A mood she could tell could easily be swayed.
"Guy." She replied, having no other way to respond. Rita had already asked the question of a name, so why repeat?

Madoka gave a tiny smile to Rapunzel and noticed her long hair. "Wow...I love your hair. It's so pretty." she said instantly, she regretted it instantly and blushed bright red. "I mean, uh, hi. I'm Madoka...and your Rapunzel. Nice to meet you." she said holding out her hand. Hoping she was doing this right, she was never good at making friends back home.
