That's When My Life Begins

[Polka]

(ooc: July 27th. Open only to girls that could be described as perky (or anything along those lines) and Polka. And you get a cookie if you get the reference with the title.)

Nervous would be a very adequate way to describe the young blonde at that moment in time. Her encounter with Wilbur the previous day had gone off without a hitch, and that was something she was very thankful for, but was it really the right time for her to try stepping out of her comfort zone? Wandering away from the mansion hadn't even stricken her as a particularly good idea when it had popped into her head earlier that morning, and yet there she was getting ready to cross into the unknown world of the shopping center. Already she was having second thoughts. The shopping center was just so big and filled with unknown people. Could she even handle it?

Maybe this isn't a good idea. You could always go back. But then again... you did say you wanted to see more of what the island had to offer. On the other hand...

Polka absolutely hated feeling so indecisive. Part of her wanted to really go out on the town so she could see what the shopping center had to offer, while the other half was being incredibly stubborn and begging for her to retreat back to her room. Almost as if she was beginning to agree with that second side, Polka took one step back and came to a stop. It was beginning to look like she really needed a... nudge. A little nudge in the right direction if she was going to get to know what the world outside her comfort zone was like.

[Dawn]

Blue haired girl could have spent every day at the shopping center. But she knew it was best to save her money, too bad the shops had so many cute things! Every day she ended up buying like everything she could think of. It was starting to get ridiculous. However, today, she noticed something else. A girl that wasn't shopping. What was this madness?! It was in a girl's genes to want to shop.

"Excuse me...are you alright?" Dawn asked approaching Polka.

[Rapunzel]

Rapunzel excitedly made her way closer to the shopping center. Sure she didn't buy all that much, she was a window shopper. But was it that bad? After all everything was so new! So different! It was so amazing to see all these wonderful things Gothel had left out. A wide smile was arranged on the blonde;s face, her hair in a braid so people wouldn't accidentally step on it. As she continued on her merry way, she heard someone ask if another was okay. Call it a healer's reaction but the blonde's course headed directly towards a blue haired and blonde girl.

The blonde girl had that shy, anxious look about her. Rapunzel got the feeling she hadn't been out that much at all, and could feel why the girl would be so nervous. "Are you okay?" Punzie mimicked Dawn, "You look sorta anxious. " The blonde cooed, trying to sound her nicest. Concern and curiosity were obvious in her tone.

[Polka]

Of course, Polka's state had left her open to questioning. This time she didn't entirely mind, though. Unlike when she had first been introduced to Wilbur the day before, she did realize that the whole world wasn't out to get her. It didn't mean she was entirely braced for being encountered. But whatever the case, Polka couldn't leave either of the newcomers hanging. They had asked for an answer and they would get one.

"Oh. I... I don't know. I've never been to a place like this before. I'm starting to think I shouldn't have come here at all, but at the same time I want to see what's in this shopping center. So I... guess you two caught me in the middle of an internal debate." Polka explained. As her explanation wore on, she felt herself growing more sheepish about it. She could only imagine how silly it must have sounded. Dawn looked like she knew her way around a place like the shopping center, and Rapunzel at least looked more confident than she. What must they have thought just seeing Polka so indecisive about something?

[Rapunzel]

"Of course you should have come!" The excitable blonde exclaimed. "It's always good to get out now and then." She followed up. Heavens knew that was the truth for her predicament. Actually she'd prefer to be out all the time. no more tiny, confined tower to her. She'd been exposed to other people and places and there was no going back. "If it makes you feel comfortable I'll stay with you." Emerald eyes looked earnestly at Polka. It would be fun to go shopping with someone else for a change. Heck she might actually get something.

Eyes and head turned to Dawn. "I'd hope you'd want to come along too. I'm not to fashionably adept." The blonde let her lips form a tentative smile. Excitable, hyper blonde reigned it in. It seemed she didn't want to scare the younger blonde girl with her.

[Dawn]

"Well ladies, its your lucky day, thanks to a talking dog, i was able to get some great fashion advice. And, i am the fashion queen! Let's go!" Dawn said with a smile. "I'm Dawn by the way. It's nice to meet ya."

[Polka]

It was still a bit unbelievable to think that people actually wanted to stick with her, but it was a little less so when Polka silently reminded herself that she was no longer in Tenuto. Of course people were going to be nicer to her than other people she had met before and act as if there was nothing wrong. They didn't know about her, so it should have been a relief to her. In a way it was. Somehow it just put Polka a little bit at ease that she could live without worrying about other people being afraid of her. At length, she gratefully offered a little nod in response to both Rapunzel and Dawn. "I... I'd like it if you two stayed. It might be a little less intimidating with you both here." Polka said. Well, already she was feeling less intimidated. It was a start.

"And... my name's Polka."

Polka wondered for a moment if her name was really odd. Wilbur had found it 'interesting', so what would Dawn and Rapunzel have to say about it? Maybe nothing. It could have just been that Polka was just presuming that people would think it, and by extension her, odd.

[Dawn]

"That's a nice name." Dawn said with a smile. She didn't find the name odd at all. after all she had friends with names like Ash, Conway, and a few others, in fact hse knew people with names like Mars and Saturn so hearing a name like Polka, while it was weird, it didn't strike her any odder than the other names.

[Rapunzel]

"I'm Rapunzel." The blonde offered up. Polka was a very pretty name. All three seemed to have different names in an odd way which was just fine with her. The more unique the better. Blonde began to walk forward, arms jutting out to grab both girls to carry them along. "Well come on girls!" She exclaimed brightly. After a while she began skipping.

"So Polka are you looking for anything specific?" She questioned.

[Polka]

Despite her inner thoughts begging her to just declare that she was looking to see everything the shopping center had to offer, Polka decided against it. She just couldn't blurt that much out without probably looking a bit strange. So, instead she shook her head. "I just wanted to see what sorts of places this place really had to offer, but I got so overwhelmed that... well, we're all standing here talking about it." Polka said. A soft, little laugh followed. How ridiculous it seemed to her. She was such a timid little canary! Hardly knowing the world outside her presumed cage of Tenuto, she scared at the first sight of something to explore and needed the guidance of more experienced birds. She wondered if maybe the others thought it funny too.

"Wherever you think would be the best starting point is fine by me. I don't mind. Really." Polka said. As long as they didn't mess with her clothing in some way, or her hair, she would be okay. Polka was ready for anything, at least as far as she was concerned.
