Brief History: Joey Wheeler was the son of a oft drunken brute who wasted all their money on gambling. This drove his mother and younger sister away as his mother couldn't stand his father any longer. Joey just had the unlucky trait of being the boy in the family, so he was left with his father. Just in order for them to pay the rest, Joey learned how to actually gamble and win. His father still beat him silly to the point where Joey really spent much of his time on the streets waiting for his dad to fall into a drunken stupor, before he went home.
During school, Joey made friends with Tristen Taylor and Yugi Muto and picked up the game Duel Monsters, even getting some pretty good cards, though most of them had to deal with pressing his luck like how he grew up. When Yugi had received an invitation to Duelist Kingdom, Joey had to deal with apparently being left behind. He was really hoping to win the prize money for his sister's operation. When Joey received an invitation later, he almost ignored the key as he ran down to the docks to make the ship. In retrospect, he probably should have figured out that the dinghy he boarded couldn't have possibly been the Duelist Kingdom ship before he got on. Instead, he ended up on an island. Then again, it could have been Duelist Kingdom, but there weren't any duelists to be found. A little dumbstruck, he wandered the island a bit, before he arrived at the manor in the middle.
Sample Post: "Meh, look at dis place. It took hours just to get up here." Joey walked up to the doors of the mansion. "Now, let's see here. Do I just knock or what?" He pulled out his invitation, holding the key in his other hand as he looked for any instructions. He seemed pretty ignorant still, until he reached the end of the letter. "What the-!! Dis ain't Pegasus's signature! Who the heck is Aphrodite?!"
He began banging on the door with the hand that held the key. "Hey! What's going on a here? Open up, ya jerk, and face me like a man!" He growled as he kept up his beatdown on the door, not realizing it was a pull door. "I swears, when I get in dere, someone's gonna have to pay! My sister needed an operation, youse bunch of jerks!" Needless to say, he was not amused.
