History:
Ma-Ti was born into a tribe in South America. His parents were killed at a young age and he was raised by his tribe. Growing up be friended a monkey he named Souchi. One day the forest caught fire as animals began panicing to get away. Ma-Ti found Souchi who handed him a ring. Ma-Ti put it on and was instantly vanished along with Souchi to Hope Island. Het met four other teens and Gaia the women who sent the rings to them. She had summoned them to be Planeteers. While the other four teens had a power of nature he was given a different power called Heart. It gave him the power of telepathy. He could contact Gaia, the other four planeteers, animals, and people. Combined with the other four rings powers they could summon Captain Planet.
Being the youngest member of the group it was hard at first. But he helped rescue the team in an early mission against Verminous Skumm. Unfortunately he was often captured by super villains when they split up. But he was generally able to contact the others to rescue and to call Captain Planet in a hurry if the five Planeteers weren't together at the same time. One day he got a letter and a key from Aphrodite. Gaia had given them the next couple weeks off with all the eco villains in jail. So he decided to go to the island to have some fun.

Ma-Ti wandered around the island. He took the key out looking at it curiously before pocketing it. He still had his ring but he had decided not to use it. He only read people's minds or contacted them if it was a planeteer emergency and he knew it would be cheating as well. He wondered why the other Planeteers hadn't been called here. Surely one of them would have better luck at finding someone.
He sighed as he sat down in a chair on the beach. He smiled as he watched the ocean with a couple dolphins jumping out of the water. Well maybe he'd at least find some new friends here. He turned his attention back on the water as he sat watching the dolphins until they swam away.
