Kitty watched carefully as Tai Lung and Mega tried to put little Kovu's mind at ease, reassuring that they weren't going to hurt him. While Kitty still kept a small smile on her face, she couldn't really help but feel a tad intimidated by the Leopard as well, though her attention was focused on the cub, and thus kept a paw close to her weapon, ready to draw if she needed to step in. She always suspected that her somewhat motherly side towards those younger than her was more of an instinct than anything else.
As the subject took a turn back to their locks, the feline gave a small shrug of her shoulders, letting her lock thump against her chest again as she dropped her paw to her lap. "Well, even if we don't find who matches with who, better to have buddies anyway." She mused, rolling her shoulders.
As Meowth said that He was a Pokemon, Kitty's expression shifted to a confused stare. "Poke-mon?" She parroted, the odd word sounding off as she repeated it. What the heck was a Pokemon? She gave a small shake of her head. "Sorry, amigo (friend), never heard of a Pokemon before. I don't think we have any of those where I live." She replied. She then gave a small smirk as Meowth then asked if she was any good with her sword. The feline chuckled, giving the hilt of the weapon at her hip a small pat. "Can crows fly?" she shot back with a grin. She was beginning to like these cats already.

"You've never heard of Pokemon? They're all over the world and several different kinds of them. I guess it's possible you could have avoided all of them, or maybe you just met them and didn't know they were Pokemon." said Meowth.
He smiled hearing how good she was with a sword. He had focused so much on learning to speak like humans and stand like them he hadn't learned many techniques. He'd tried but hadn't had much luck so far. Perhaps if he could learn how to swordfight he'd be more helpful.
"You think you could teach me some time? It looks fun to try." said Meowth.

Kitty merely gave a shrug of her shoulders as Meowth told her what Pokemon were, though her expression still said she was interested in learning more. "Hmm..Nah, I probably would've known if something like you or bigger was walking around San Ricardo...The most I've come across is a goose chick that laid golden eggs and it's momma." Kitty shuddered slightly at the memory of the Huge Mother Goose stomping around the humble village before Meowth spoke up again.
Kitty smirked and hopped off of the tree stump after Meowth asked her if She could teach her how to fight with a sword. Kitty placed one paw on her hip and another on her chin, wearing a thoughtful expression as she started circling the Cat scratch pokemon. "Hmm...Who knows, maybe I could..." As she returned to his face again, Kitty stopped circling the Pokemon and grinned, fangs flashing for a moment. "But I'll teach you only if you're willing to put up with the work. It's a difficult process, but well worth it.."

Tai Lung couldn't help smiling at the young lion. He could remember being at that age, when it seemed like growing up was forever away and the things he was striving for so out of reach. "You're still young kid. You have plenty of time before you need to worry about a mate. And I very much doubt we would have been brought here if our match wasn't." He felt some kind of kinship building between himself and Kovu. He felt compelled to keep this little one safe. Against what he wasn't quite sure yet. Perhaps from this... Mega whom he still wasn't sure he trusted yet.

"You think so?" Kovu asked. Did that mean that maybe Kiara really was there after all? Not that he wanted to get his hopes up, but part of him remained positive that he and Kiara could be more than friends. But it was only a hope. He still had no idea what to expect from the island or the mansion. Still, he had to admit that Tai Lung had at least instilled a bit of hopefulness in the little cub. If Tai Lung was sure that they would find someone, then they had to be able to find someone. It just made sense. "Yeah... I guess that would make sense. It'd be pretty dumb if we were invited here only for us not to find whoever it is we're supposed to find." he said.

"Kovu huh?" Mega uses a claw to scratch an itch under his chin, his tail flips from side to side lazily as he watches the others. "soo do all Pokemon talk like you?" he asked the cat-scratch pokemon his orange eyes stare warmly at Meowth.

Meowth frowned puzzled. How could she not have heard of Pokemon. Unless maybe these animals weren't Pokemon after all. Maybe they were like fish just regular animals. They certainly weren't speaking human or Pokemon language and yet he understood them.
"A goose that laid golden eggs? Whoever owned that goose would be rich." said Meowth.
He paused seeing her shudder deciding to drop the subject thinking the goose brought up a bad memory. He focused on the sword fighting which he smiled glad she would be willing to try to teach him.
"I know a lot about hard work. I used to walk on four paws and speak only the Pokemon language. But I trained myself to speak human language and walk on two legs like a human. That was the hardest thing I've ever done. I didn't expect swordfighting to be too easy, but at least I've got a lot of time to practice." said Meowth.
Meowth turned to Mega shaking his head.
"They can all talk, just not like me. They only speak one language Pokemon. To anyone else it sounds like they're just saying their name or parts of it. I speak Pokemon and human and I usually the translator for my human friends so they understand what the Pokemon are saying." said Meowth.

It didn't take to much longer for a young cub to walk up she had spotted Mega. She had seen him around the Pridelands. She knew this lion must have been friends with Simba at some point. She lowers herself to the ground trying to stay as low as she could to try to surprise Mega. One thing about pouncing she was never really good at it. She stepped on a twig. "Shoot, Shoot, please don't hear that, please don't hear that. " She said to herself.

Unfortunately for Kiara, Kovu had heard the snapping twig. His ears twitched slightly and looked over his shoulder to try and see if he could find who had come up to join the scene. So far the brown cub couldn't see anyone, but he felt like maybe there was someone watching them. Since the conversation seemed to have died down, Kovu felt safe to try and approach whoever had appeared. Maybe it would give him a chance to avoid the intimidating gaze of Mega a while longer.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" Kovu asked. Surely there was. Kovu had heard something break a twig, so there had to be someone there somewhere. Kovu looked around and lowered himself to the ground a little bit so that he could sneak. One step forward. Then another. Then another. It wasn't long before Kovu had crept closer to where Kiara had hidden herself.

"hm?" the snap of a twig caught the male attention almost immediately the large lion whirls around and creeps forward towards the sound mimicking the young outlanders actions almost to a T. "Show yourself" the large male orders oh god what if it's an hyena? his eyes narrow as his claws pop out and dig into the earth.

Kiara gasped she'd been found. It took Kiara a few moments to decipher who had seen her though. She gasped this cub looked an awful lot like Kovu. But, no that couldn't be could it. This cub even talked like Kovu. But, this couldn't really be Kovu could it. She might as well see, she walked out of the brush with a sheepish little smile on her face. "KOVU"? She asked happily. If this were really Kovu it would be real hard to try to not Pounce Kovu down in happiness.

"wha-Princess Kiara?!" the male steps back his claws now safely shielded away. "Kiara...what are you doing here?" Mega's mouth moved a few time but no words came out for he was to confused to make any. Now Mega was no baby sitter the although he did have a soft spot for kids like Boga and Babu and the princess was no exception and that fact that she was the future queen also made this situion a little bit more troubling to the older male.

That voice... that fur color... Kovu could hardly contain himself when the newcomer made her presence known. A grin spread across Kovu's face and he lifted himself out of his crouch. There was no doubt about it; the cub before him was Kiara. On top of the fact that she was there, he was the only Outlander present. No Zira to snatch him up and take him away, no Vitani or Nuka to make fun of him... it was just him and Kiara. Well, the other cats were present as well. Kovu could care less about that fact right then, though. His one-time playmate was there. He couldn't have been happier even if he tried.
"Hey, Kiara. I'm... really glad to see you here." Kovu said. That didn't even adequately describe his feelings right then. He'd thought he'd never see Kiara again. Knowing she was there did ease his feelings about the whole lock and key thing, though. Maybe she was there for a reason. "When did you get here? Does... your father know you're so far from home?" he asked. There was a hint of teasing in his tone, much like when he had teased her about being a daddy's girl before, but it wasn't enough to really be mocking. Kovu felt significantly more playful and at ease right then.

Kiara could not control herself anymore. Knowing this was Kovu she goes to tackle Kovu over in a glomp. "I am so happy to see you too Kovu. I never thought I would ever see you again. I got here very recently. I was hoping that you would be here. When you left I was so sad I hoped one day we would be together again. And of course I didn't tell my daddy. I could just hear him now.
"Kiara, how many times have I told you not to wander away from home, when we get back you are in so much trouble, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. " She said trying to mock her dad. "My dad is never gonna fully understand you, like I do. You're not like the other outlanders, you're special and Unique" Kiara said.
She then turned with a smile to Mega "It's nice to see you again" She said before turning back to Kovu with a smile. "Hey, maybe me and you can finally get some playtime now that my stupid dad isn't here to break it up" Kiara said with a playful growl to Kovu.

With Kiara being so forward in her actions, it was difficult to keep from feeling slightly embarrassed about the whole thing. Kovu had never had anyone so close to him before, excluding Zira, and it was just... different. He could have sworn that Kiara's nose was almost touching his, so he shrank back a tiny bit just as Kiara began to explain her situation. He ended up nodding a little to signify that he understood what was going on and shrugged just a little. It was beginning to sound like the pair of them were more like-minded than they had initially been aware.
"That kind of sounds like what happened with me. I just couldn't take being in the Outlands anymore. That, and when I found this key thing around my neck I just couldn't stay. I didn't want mother to start questioning me." Kovu sighed. Zira, Vitani, and Nuka just wouldn't understand. Kovu needed to be free and he wanted to find out about the key in his own way without someone breathing down his neck. Now he had the opportunity.
"And... well, maybe we can. Though I can't guarantee I'll be very good at the... uh... games you know." Kovu said. Truthfully, Kovu didn't know much about playing at all. The best he could do was playfight.
