[For anyone, because we need more threads for everyone. I've also lost track of this forum...bad Jessie. Dx August..3rd? Have fun and interact whilst randomly swimming. Would be awesome if all Team Rocket showed up. I'll throw Butch in there if Cassidy comes!]
The pool seemed to be deserted. Jessie didn't really mind that much - she valued her alone time. Already in a swimming costume, she discarded the towel wrapped around her waist to the side of the pool, and, making sure that no one was watching, leapt into the water with a clumsy cannonball. Surfacing and pushing her wet hair from her eyes, Jessie paddled on the spot for a moment before deciding to simply swim the length of the pool with a leisurely backstroke.
She swam for a little while, but then simply let herself go limp in the water, which made her float to the surface. The pool water lapped gently around her ears and she listened, closing her eyes and finding it quite relaxing.

It had been quite some time since Hubert had donned his swimming trunks and goggles. The young Lieutenant hardly had the time to partake in activities such as swimming when he was back home, especially with few places to do so around Strahta, so the opportunity presenting itself seemed a little strange. He'd asked Pascal to come with him, but the doofy Amarcian had rejected his offer in favor of working on what he could only assume was another 'surprise'. Hubert chose not to question Pascal any further, and so he found himself all but alone in the pool area.
"Might as well enjoy myself." he said. It probably wouldn't be until some time later that he was presented another opportunity to enjoy himself. Hubert knew he had to grasp it while he still had the chance. So, he lowered himself into the pool and took a few moments to adjust to the temperature of the water before finally looking Jessie's way. One with less tact than Hubert might have commented on the length of the redhead's hair, but Hubert stayed silent on that matter. He instead opted to make friendly conversation.
"It appears as though we had the same idea in coming here. I hope you don't mind my being here. It's been quite a while since I had the opportunity to relax like this." he said. Was it even really relaxing? Hubert simply hadn't had the opportunity to indulge in such activities, relaxing or no.

Upon hearing someone talking to her, Jessie raised her head and allowed herself to sink back into the water again. Her brow furrowed in annoyance, but her expression softened again - getting annoyed was too much work. The blue haired one was right - opportunities to relax were few and far between for her too. Shrugging her shoulders at his query of if she minded his presence, she swam past him to the other end of the pool. "It's a free pool," she said.

Azure eyes observed the pool area. It felt pretty... empty. Duke wasn't one who was too used to being around so few people. There were usually lots of people around him, be it his age, his superiors, his elders, or those younger than him. It felt pleasant to have so few people around him. He figured that coming to the pool might be a good way to attract a girl to talk to him. Apparently not, considering the only woman here appeared to be older than him. Not by much, sure, but Duke figured she had other guys on her mind.
The tan teen had on a pair of navy blue swim trunks, and that was really it. He was going swimming, right? Might as well not go out running in the pool wearing actual clothing. Once again, his eyes scanned over the pool. There was a redhead woman, and a guy with... blue hair. The redhead had excessively long hair too. Then again, Duke did have bleach blonde hair. People did give him some weird looks often times. He contemplated being social with them, but decided against it and settled for sitting on the edge of the pool with his feet in the water.
Maybe he'd talk to them later. Or maybe they'd talk to him. Whatever occurred, Duke would just kind of wait for it to happen.

Jessie noticed someone else enter the pool as she swam, and halted her strokes to see who it was. A younger boy, tan and bleach blonde. Jessie sent a brief nod his way as he took a seat on the pool's edge, seemingly unsure whether he wanted to get in. "What's the matter, kid, scared of water?" Jessie asked neutrally, one eyebrow raised.

Cassidy walked out dressed in a blue two piece swim suit as she set her towel down. She wanted to relax today and noticed Jessie in the pool. She frowned before an idea came to her. She smiled and dove in sending water all over Jessie. She smiled and kept swimming around. The two boys here didn't look like her type and were younger than here anyway. So she focused on swimming instead as she swam away from Jessie knowing how angry she could get.

"You have my gratitude, ma'am." Hubert said at length. He was glad Jessie didn't mind his presence, anyway. It made it much easier for him to enjoy himself without worrying about bothering someone. Though Pascal's presence probably would have made it even better. He'd just have to live without her being there for the time being. For a beat, Hubert's attention was shifted to Duke. He didn't particularly mind Duke joining them either, and so motioned with his hand for the blond to come in to the water.
"You've no reason to worry. I certainly have no intention of biting, if that's what you're afraid of." Hubert said. There was a hint of teasing in his tone. Just a light jab at how uncertain Duke seemed at that particular moment. If anything, it reminded Hubert vaguely of himself when he was younger.

The tan teen watched as Jessie made his way towards him. Well, no, he wasn't really scared of the water, just sort of preparing himself by letting his feet soak a bit and observe his surroundings. But he decided to jump in after listening to what Hubert said. "Nah, I'm not scared of someone biting me." he said with a light short-lived snicker as he jumped into the pool.
Briefly, he caught a glance of Cassidy as she dove into the pool, though he ended up with quite a few water droplets in his face. Duke decided to swim towards Hubert in an effort to avoid getting splashed by either female. He figured he might as well introduce himself to Hubert. After all, who knew how long either of them was going to be stuck on this island? The blond figured he might as well get to know someone besides whoever was his special someone. If he was lucky to find her anyway.
"Don't think I've met you before. Or really anyone on this island. Name's Duke."

Well, that was easier to accomplish than he had thought. Hubert had almost thought it would require more coaxing to get Duke to join them. Since that wasn't the case, though, he was relieved for that much. Now it appeared as though the blond teen wanted to engage in conversation with him. Of course, Hubert was happy to oblige. As long as no one roped him into playing an unruly game of Marco Polo or anything along those lines, he would be willing to put up with pretty much anything that got thrown his way.
"I'm Hubert. And you are correct, this is the first time I believe either of us has come across the other on this island. In any case, it's nice to make your acquaintance." Hubert said. Even while relaxing it seemed impossible for him to drop his more formal manner of speaking. That aside, Hubert thought things were going to go over well enough. What could go wrong? "If I were to guess, I'd say that... you haven't been on the island that long? It seems rather odd that we wouldn't have met before now." he stated.

Jessie was about to reply to the blue haired youth once more, when suddenly a large splash of water was sent her way. Coughing as she swallowed the chlorine and blinking it out of her eyes too, she looked around for the culprit. It didn't take long for her to spot her blonde haired co-worker...and worst enemy!
"Cassidy!" she roared, instantly flaring up. Relaxation seemed forgotten for now. "Why can't you just leave me alone?"

Lucky for Duke, Hubert had answered him and spoke to him further. He briefly glanced over at the two women. Clearly, there must have been some sort of rivalry or something along those lines, because they did not seem friendly with one another. Shaking his head for a moment, he looked back at Hubert and focused on the topic at hand. Hubert. That wasn't a name you heard too often, but Duke wasn't one to judge. How often did you hear the name Duke, or Conrad for that matter?
"Yeah, haven't been here too long. Got shipped over here yesterday. Figured the first thing I'd do was get some sleep, then go do... something today. Swimming sounded relaxing from all the stress recently, so here I am. Though, it looks like relaxation might have to wait a while with this scene over here." the blond said, gesturing over towards Cassidy and Jessie. "It looks like there might be a blood bath over some splashing."

"Oh bother... are we really to the point where women want to kill each other over a little splash?" Hubert wondered. It seemed so... childish! Not even he had done that when he and Asbel were kids, and these two women were presumably older than him. The whole thing was embarrassing to say the very least. "Honestly? That's rather immature. Who ever heard of losing one's nerve over a bit of splashing?" he asked. Hell if he knew. He could only hope that things didn't escalate too much further. Otherwise... well, he might have had to step in and forgo his attempt at relaxation.

Upon hearing a familiar and furious yell of 'Cassidy!', Butch knew instantly that both Jessie and Cassidy were in the pool. He sighed as he entered, and decided to keep out of their way. They'd only blast him and get his name wrong AGAIN if he intervened. He kept to the far end of the pool where two other guys were. "Hey," he grunted awkwardly, briefly raising his hand in a gesture of greeting. He sat at the pool's edge, and sighed in Jessie and Cassidy's direction again. "Name's Butch. Sorry about those two. They..don't like each other."

Another newcomer? Well, Hubert couldn't say that he wasn't relieved. It was best that they have something to take their mind off of the fact that Jessie and Cassidy probably were going to start fighting over something as silly as a bit of splashing. The bespectacled teen nodded a little before gently pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose and getting ready to properly introduce himself. "I figured as much. It certainly seems like they aren't getting along at the present moment." Hubert remarked. How very silly indeed. At least Pascal wasn't there to make things more... interesting. Or worse. Whatever she happened to feel like doing probably wouldn't have made things better if she were there.
"At any rate, my name is Hubert. It is a pleasure to meet you, Butch." Hubert said. He had no idea that people had a tendency to get the green-haired man's name wrong. The fact that he'd said it right just didn't seem like a big deal to him.

Alright, either the people that came here had a tendency to dye their hair every color of the rainbow, or Duke was just running into some people who decided to have unnatural hair colors, or just odd hairstyles in general. He probably wasn't used to it with the army's code on hair. Appearances didn't matter, right? So Duke just went along with the odd hair color and moved on. At least the men there weren't killing each other. At least, not yet anyways. "Yeah. I could kinda see they didn't like each other." Duke remarked as his cyan eyes flickered over to the newcomer.
"Name's Duke." Butch. Huh. Again, not a name you heard far too often. Maybe Aphrodite decided that she wanted people with interesting names to come find love? Duke didn't actually care too much about if names were odd or not. He was sure he heard a talking dog on his way to the pool. There were other things to be worrying about than names and colorful hairstyles. His sanity seemed to be slipping if he heard a talking dog earlier. That would be a bit more important to worry about than who has pink hair.
