(ooc: i really am not sure on the date for this. So someone please pick a date... anyways, open to everyone, This is a formal dance and please keep this thread slowly paced! also any couple can show up here and get to know each other, in fact its encouraged ) The blue haired girl wasn't really one for big parties like this, it was odd and it kind of made her uncomfortable. She could perform in front of an audience with pokemon but when it came to dancing well, she wasn't a ballerina. So, she decided just to watch the others dance. Dawn had looked her best in her usual contest get-up with the pink dress with stars on it. ---- "WHOO!! PARTY TIME!!" Beast Boy said bursting through the door. "Alright, ladies, which one of you wants to dance with the B-man!" the green haired mutant gave a flirty smile

Lucky stood close to the door. Contrary to his usual confident-bordering-on-cocky air, he seemed unusually subdued and a little uneasy. He'd dressed up for the occasion; looking debonair in a blue bowtie as opposed to his normal collar. I wonder if Laila will show up... He thought, glancing around the room with his blue eyes. Ever since the dance practice the pup hadn't seen hide nor hair of the pretty femme, which was confusing. It seemed like everything was going great, and then she just...got up and walked away. He couldn't understand it.
He wouldn't admit it but he was getting distracted from his initial mission (that being to track down Cruella) to court this girl. She was pretty and well...there was just something about her that he liked. He hoped she'd show up to dance tonight.

((Hmm..how about July 17th? I don't think we have anything set for that Date yet..)) Laila sighed, fixing a stray bang before she walked in to the ballroom. She had her hair up in a bun and fixed with a string of pearls in the same manner she had it at the formal Dinner and had replaced her usual red bandanna/scarf for a Red leather collar, and had made sure to keep her fur well groomed and clean for the event. Though she had a usual, confident air about her, she had been worried these past few days. Ever since the dance with Lucky, when he said that he was certain his Mother and Father would be willing to share their 'Pets, by which the Dalmatian meant Human, she had been mulling it over after the shock wore off. But what puzzled her was that she couldn't seem to recall as to why the thought of living with Lucky, his Family and their Humans bothered her so much. She was sure the Dalmatian had been confused about her sudden departure, and had mostly decided to come to the Dance just to talk with him, and it was an excuse to get out of the room. As she approached the door, she spotted a familiar set of blue eyes and a horseshoe-shaped set of spots and gave a timid smile and a wave, making sure to move out of the way of the door so other guests could get in. "Lucky. Glad to see you here.." -------------- Confident German Shepherd had walked in with a confident smirk, headfur slicked back and wearing a black bow-tie instead of his usual red collar. "Attention, Ladies, your Guardian Angel has arrived.." Charlie chuckled, flashing ivory fangs in a flirty, almost mischievous manner. ----------------- Coraline sighed, opting to lean against the nearest wall. While she wasn't one for parties, she figured that she might as well attempt to make a few friends while she was here. She wore a simple blue dress with silvery, star-shaped designs along the right side. ((-facepalm- Fail posts are fail. Bluh. xP))

"Do I really have to wear this?"
"Yes. Now come now, Pascal. Don't be so fussy."
It was for Hubert. It was all for Hubert that Pascal was subjecting herself to wearing something that was a far cry from her usual attire. She just felt so... odd standing there in the red and white dress that seemed to compliment her hair so nicely. Not even a scarf was present around her neck. Instead, Pascal had needed to abandon it in favor of appearing more formal for the evening. At her side was Hubert, sporting his uniform. Pascal had wanted to complain about how it wasn't fair that he got to wear his uniform, but the young Lieutenant had countered with the argument that uniforms were quite formal. That had shut Pascal up very nicely.
"I'm not being fussy, Hu. I just don't see why I hafta wear this." Pascal pouted. Oblivious Amarcian was oblivious to the fact that Hubert was giving her a very unamused expression at that moment in time. "But here I am, wearing it. If it makes you happy." she said.
"Actually, it does." Hubert commented. He made no further remark, instead opting to extend his hand to Pascal's so that he might lead her further into the ballroom. Much as he wanted to spend the whole evening alone with Pascal, he knew better than to exclude the other residents. So, leading the two-tone haired woman by the arm, Hubert lead the pair of them toward the others that had entered the ballroom. His goal was to find someone they could exchange in conversation with briefly before he executed operation: tango.
----
Awkward. That was the only way that Hiccup could describe how he felt right then. Never mind the question of where the clothing he was in had come from. Hiccup was more concerned about the fact that he was going to make himself look like an absolute doofus. He couldn't say he was any more 'fly' after taking lessons from Atticus, but even if he was he would still feel like a doof. The way things were going, though, Hiccup imagined that maybe he would get off the hook. No one had noticed him yet.
"Maybe, if all goes well, I can get through the night without dancing." Hiccup murmured. It was a vain hope, but he could hold on to it as long as no one actually walked up to him and made him try to dance.
----
"This is stupid."
Bulbasaur, standing beside Meowzie, felt incredibly out of place. The young grass type tugged uncomfortably at the bow tie around his neck and grumbled audibly, all the while wishing the night would end. He was not going to dance. Bulbasaur absolutely refused to participate. Yet, somehow, his companions had roped him into coming along. A lot of good that had done. He couldn't see any of the friends he associated with on the dance floor, and this fact only succeeded in irritating him further. "I want to go home."
Meowzie remained silent. She didn't know Bulbasaur, so any comfort she might have offered would seem out of place. All she knew was the grass type was far from content, and she didn't like that fact. But what could she do? Her best guess was to hope that somehow someone came along that would have liked to dance with either her or Bulbasaur.
(ooc: I might bring in James or Rebecca later, but for now I'm just sticking with these guys. Anyone can feel free to interact with any of the above characters, especially Hubert and Pascal since I don't want them to just interact with each other. That'd get boring.)

Rai hated dressing up. So much. He hadn't even BROUGHT anything fancy. But next thing he knew the darned hostess was laying out a Tux in his room and wouldn't take no for an answer. He didn't look BAD, he just didn't like it. However, in a final act of rebellion, he left his hair messy and windblown just as it always had been, instead of slicking it back like the glowing lady had wanted. He stepped in and surveyed the people in the room. Forrest green eyes darted to Beast Boy with an amused smirk. "Easy there green dude, the ladies like a little subtlety." He said cockily walking up to Beast Boy. Would it be easy for him to go and do that and still come out looking desirable? Of course, but not everyone could be blessed with Raimundo's dashing good looks. At least that's what he told himself. His eyes landed on the only other girl here of his age and species with pretty blue hair...just like Kimiko's. She was sure pretty. Maybe not to the extent of Dyrus (Mermaid Dyrus, that is) or Wuya, but the more subtle kind of beauty, like Kimiko. ---
Speak of the irritated devil, Kimiko walking in wearing a pink colored dress that ended just above her knees with off the shoulder sleeves of a darker shade and black dress flats. A pink flower was in her hair. She was never one for dances. Or dressing up. But she supposed it was tons better than her fathers overbearing pink and yellow Kimono. That particular getup was her mothers, and her father loved to see her wear it. However, considering he wasn't here and she didn't need a favor, she gave herself free reign over what she wore.
"Alrighty, let's get this over with, shall we?" She asked to nobody. ---- Merida hadn't even bothered with her hair. It hung down in the same messy mop of curls it had since she got here and before. Her dress, however, was a bit more like one her mother would force her to wear, and not her casual get-up. However, it was much less tight and constricting. Outside of that, it seemed to be a replica. Her dark cloak had been discarded for once also, leaving her in her light blue shiny dress. She felt like she was home once again, pretending to be a perfect little princess. Fun as a little prank would be right now she knew the blonde lady would be all over her before she could even begin to formulate something amusing. She always seemed to know.
Spotting one particular familiar face she sighed in relief. At least she wouldn't have to be an awkward little girl here if she knew someone. Hesitating a moment, she finally walked up to him. "Not much for dances, eh?" She asked with an amused smile.

Oh, gods. You've been found out already.
Too late to wish he could vanish into whatever crowd there was, Hiccup knew there was only one thing to do. He would just have to deal with being there and conversing with someone. Fortunately for him, it was Merida. He was at least comfortable around her. It was at that point that he abandoned the tactic Atticus had attempted to teach him. Not only had he forgotten how to speak that way, but he had also just felt downright silly attempting that method.
"Well, you might say I have two left feet. I've never been given an opportunity to attempt dancing." Hiccup explained. Dances were such a rare occurrence around Berk that even if Hiccup did know about them he'd never been invited. Maybe that had been a good thing, though. Now he only had one good leg to attempt dancing with while the other seemed as though it might rebel beneath him or get caught on something as he attempted to dance. Had Merida attempted it before? Hiccup didn't know.
"I'm... guessing your hair either decided to rebel or you're protesting against this thing in your own way." Hiccup chuckled a little. He had to admit he did like her hair better that way, but the idea of it rebelling was amusing somehow.

"Yo, yo, yo! Hiccup my man! Whassup whassup?" Atticus walked into the room wearing a little black bowtie. He looked just plain fluffy and adorable. He waddled up to Hiccup and jumped on a chair. "Gimmie some fin, my brother!" He held out his fin for Hiccup to slap it, like a high five. "Yo, check dis, I'm gonna be rappin' for the ball! Ain't no lady penguins here so I gotcha back, son. You gonna get a fine honey tonight, you get what I'm sayin' G?" Atticus was being rather loud so who knew who would come over to the doofus of a viking. * * * * Tito trotted in, hair still a mess and bandanna still around his head. There was no way after going through that ordeal with Georgette that he was going to wear nice clothes, even to a fancy dance. Everyone was lounging about and the little dog frowned. "Yo, where's the music, man?" He pouted, "I wanna see some dancing! Turn up some reggeton and let's get down!" He started to move on the dancefloor in a square Spanish dance. * * * * Humming her song for the gala, Twilight Sparkle entered the room glittering and glowing in her gala gown. She smiled brightly. "Oh this place looks so lovely!" She mused trotting over to the punch bowl and pouring herself a glass. "I love everyone's outfits!" She trotted over towards Pascal and Hubert. They seemed like nice humans. "Hi! My name's Twilight Sparkle! Are you enjoying the dance as well?" She beamed seeming very eager to make friends.

By that point, Hubert had grown used to the appearance of talking animals. He supposed he owed that to his initial encounter with Sierra and seeing some other animals hanging around and talking. So, Twilight speaking to him and Pascal didn't seem so unnatural. He nodded politely in response to her question about whether they were enjoying the dance so far. True, no actual dancing had taken place yet, but he was enjoying himself.
"Yes, I am enjoying myself thus far. I must admit, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a dance in this place. It really does seem like it will be quite an enjoyable evening." Hubert said. Whatever complaints Pascal had about the attire, Hubert thought it was a nice change of pace. "My name is Hubert. My friend here is Pascal. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Twilight." he said. He waited for a moment, expecting Pascal to speak up as well, but she didn't seem to want to. Hubert frowned a bit and gently nudged her. "Pascal?"
"I miss my scarf." Pascal whined. Another nudge from Hubert followed, bringing Pascal out of her little world, and she finally looked down to acknowledge Twilight. Any displeasure seemed to melt away somewhat when she saw their new conversation buddy. "Oh, hi! I'm Pascal. Nice to meet you!" she said. Cheerfulness seemed to return at long last, even without her scarf.
----
It seemed Merida wasn't the only familiar face Hiccup would see that night. The familiar voice of Atticus caught his attention, and Hiccup couldn't say he wasn't happy to see the little guy. Having friends he could speak with would make the evening that much more enjoyable. Hiccup crouched down briefly, offering a smile of greeting to Atticus, and returned with a high five of his own. "What's hanging, dude? You enjoying yourself?" Hiccup asked. Probably not as fly as Atticus would have liked, but who could complain? Hiccup was still learning.

Dawn wasn't sure how she could react to this many people. She loved the idea of talking to them but just the idea of dancing made her feel awkward. She blushed hwen she caught sight of a boy with messy brunette hair looking in her direction. Great. Now what was she supposed to do? Giving a small smile, raising her hand she gave a small wave.
--- This was boring, he was a Helyin Warrior, not a dancer. The idea of being in this made him feel really ridiculious but Chase knew that his host didn't really take no for an answer. The tall Heylin warrior entered the ballroom dressed in a fine black tux. He was not going to dance though. No one would pay him enough to do that.
--- Golden haired southern belle sat at one of the tables with a cup of tea, taking a small sip of it, she glanced around the room. So many faces and many people she did not know but she decided not to go and greet them just yet. She wanted to finish her tea first.

Briefly a confused and slightly hurt look crossed his face. "What did I say? Did I hurt your feelings or somethin'?" As far as the pup could recall he hadn't said anything wrong.. he'd even offered her a place on the farm. Shouldn't she have been happy about it?

Post by Merida on May 31, 2012 16:48:29 GMT -5
"I've been given plenty of opportunities to dance. I can't say it's my favorite pastime, but it's bearable." She said, recalling things like this back in her palace. Parties and balls were rare in her home, but they had the occasional festivities. Dancing all formally like her mother wanted was dull, but other kinds she didn't have anything against. She couldn't say right away if this was going to be the dull type or not. Judging by the clothes though, her hopes weren't terribly high.
She laughed at his comment on her hair. Yes, it was a sight wasn't it, especially when compared to the shiny, straight, fancy do's of a lot of the girls present. "My hair never behaves itself, even if I wanted it to." She said in amusement. As if to prove her point she tried smoothing her bright hair down to at least look brushed, it just decided to poof back out to its original place. She didn't mind it herself. Her mother hated it though. She was fine with her brothers inheriting their dads unruly red hair, but she wanted Merida to have her own pretty mane so she could do her hair up like a little doll. It was one of the reasons she was grateful.
However before the two could converse further, a little penguin came up and started speaking in a way that Merida could only describe as weird. To her surprise, Hiccup tried to follow the little guys speech patterns. She raised her eyebrow in confusion to the two boys weird way of speaking. "Er, hi, I don't think we've met, I'm Merida." She said, trying not to dwell on the penguins weird speech.

Krystal walked, slightly nervous especially after the dancing lesson that fell apart a few days ago. He was dressed in a dark purple, formal dress that went well with her fur color. Krystal was surprised that so many people were already in the ballroom. Some of them seem to know what they are doing like the other anthro female and the blue haired guy, but some of them seemed completely out of place like the green-skinned kid, who was extremely loud and obnoxious, kind of like Falco. Krystal was uncertain of what to do now, she has never been to a party like this before.

"HEY DD!" Dawn flinched at hte sound of the obnoxious voice as she turned to try to keep a happy face on the familiar pink haired rival that she had come to loathe throughout the years. It was almost like fate was being cruel to her because Ursula looked beautiful in a strapless black dress with glitter on it along with black pumps.
"Wow, you look really nice Ursula..." she muttered.
"Thanks! I know!" Ursula smiled and looked at Dawn up and down. "you look, well..let's just say you look the best you can." she smiled before turning to check the sight of the boys almost as if targetting someone to say "who would be the lucky guy to dance with me."

Ikuto walked into the ballroom with out his violin. He hated these sort of things, then again he hated this place in general. His "formal" attire consisted of his school uniform with the shirt and jacket unbuttoned. His hands shoved in his pockets he leaned against the wall. Horrible girls, all just trying to get a guy. The guys weren't that much better. Ikuto didn't want to find love, he just wanted to cause a bit of chaos and get the hell out. Glancing over he saw the girl from the dance class...was she drinking tea? Things just kept getting worse.
---
Lucy walked into the ballroom, wearing the black dress from the dinner. She didn't see the point in going out and buying another dress. She was perfectly fine with the one dress. Her vectors were inside her body, ready for anything, preferably killing someone. Now that was a stress relief if Lucy ever knew one.
