The soft clip clop of hooves made their way across the floor. Trotting towards the group was a purple pony of the same variety as Flim, albeit more feminine and shorter. Twilight held her saddlebag over her back, her books carefully tucked inside, her locket thumping across her chest. She pulled to a halt in front of the group, a wide interesting smile on her face. She'd never seen such creatures before. Two legged like birds but bald except for hair on their heads she assumed to be manes. Tail swishing back and forth she opened her mouth to speak but caught sight of Flim and trotted beside him.
"You're Flim," she stated rather plainly, "The con artist pony who messed everything up in ponyville during Cider season!" Her eyes narrowed roughly. "What are you doing here? Did you get a lock as well?"

(ooc: guys please slow it down! aphrodite is needed in this thread and she will get behind!)
Dawn turned to the woman who had spoken. Aphrodite. That was the name on the signature on the letter right? "So, you were the ones who sent us these letters?" she asked with a confused look. "But why, surely we can find love on our own right? and what do locks and keys have to do with anything."

What Dawn had just said about locks and keys was exactly what Jessie was thinking in unison as she walked into the large room where everyone was gathered. Surprised that the words she was thinking were being spoken out loud as she thought them, but by another person, Jessie looked up from the golden heart shaped padlock that hung around her neck on a chain. Her curious expression turned dark when she saw the owner of the voice. Just when she had thought that this place would be great, that it would be like a vacation, twerp free, one of them just had to show up, didn't they?
She glared at the blue haired youth, then followed Dawn's line of sight to a beautiful woman that seemed to radiate a soft glow. She hadn't got a clue who she was, but she looked diverse from everyone else in the room. Maybe she was the one in charge of this whole event. She slipped into the room properly, having been stood in the doorway, and quickly spotted James. Her smile sprang back onto her face - she wasn't expecting her old friend James to be here too! She moved through the crowd towards him and gave him a sharp nudge in the ribs to get his attention. She smirked and waited for him to turn his head and notice her, but kept half an eye on the glowing woman.

And then, a rainbow-hued blur arrived to the scene in the blink of an eye, landing with little if any grace or elegance near the puprle unicorn. "Twilight!" The rainbow-maned pegasus exclaimed. Her magenta-hued eyes then fell into Twilight's lock. "Hey, I've got one of those, too." She stated, and curiously examined Twilight's. "But they look somehow different, don't they?" Truth be told, both locks were pretty similar, but there was a difference in them. However, Rainbow Dash didn't seem able to accurately spot it.
"You don't have any idea of why are we here, hay, even where are we at all, do you?" The blue mare asked out of the blue, now examining her own lock. "Or even any ideqa of where do these come from?" She asked once more, before examining her surroundings. She then saw Aphrodite, the pink floating... creature. She'd never seen such a thing before. She then realized there were other beings like her in the room. "What on Equestria are those, Twi?"
-----
Shortly after, a seemingly confused young dog approached rthe scene. The husky/wolf mix looked pretty lost. She had already found about the lock hanging on her neck, but she had gotten a bit lost in this mansion thingy. This place was, after all, bigger than she had expected. Dakota slowly apprached the group, hoping not to be noticed, and sat near them- There seemed to be some kind of commotion going on.

Toaster just shrugged as he got ignored, it was not like he was trying to get anyone's attention anyway. Toaster sat down in a nearby seat as the conversation continued. The metal teenager then heard a slight noise and wheeled around. It was a dog, more specifically a husky dog.
"Hey, there girl." Toaster said to the dog with a friendly smile. "What are you doing here?"
(Can someone mistake Toaster, for a girl please?)

the large male husky mix walks into the confused as he had been wandering around the maze like hallways of the large mansion "ugh does any-" was stopped once he saw Dakota his white and red tail flicks back and forth as it springs to life "Dakota!" Dingo howls in delight upon finding his sister here in 3 quick bounds the wolf/husky mix was at her side.

((Guuuuuys, slow it down, I have school, my wifi sucks at the moment, I can't keep up with all of this, especially since Aphrodite's an important person in this thread :/) Aphrodite frowned a bit at the loss of focus on her. Did the mortals want to know what was going on or not? However, she couldn’t blame them, she’d be rather confused as well, where she not the mastermind behind it all… “Yes, yes, you all got locks and keys.” She said as everyone became fascinated with the little brass objects. They had no idea they were enchanted. “But back to why you’re all here.” She said smoothly. “I’m the one who brought you here, as if it wasn’t obvious already.” Anyone who didn’t make the connection that this was her house, her island, she’d assume was either late, or didn’t notice her (but really, how could anyone not notice her?) “My name is Aphrodite.” She was hoping no one would make the connection; after all, it wasn’t as if she couldn’t have just been named after the goddess. “You can think of me as a guide of sorts, as for why you’re here, well…” She trailed off. Should she tell them? She didn’t exactly trust this particular group to work it out by themselves that the locks and keys were supposed to guide them to their soul mate, really. “Love...it’s a tricky thing.” She mused, wondering the best way to word. “That’s why I decided to help you, as you all already know, you were given a lock and a key. It’s up to you to find who you match up with.” She heard the suspicion of some of those present and spoke again. “I know it may seem unevenly matched, but more people will come, and I’m sure there are more… Equestrians on their way. And if not then I suppose my list made a mistake. No matter, it can easily be fixed if that’s the case. After all, I’m only human…” OK, that wasn’t completely true, so she really had no excuse, but she really didn’t think her list was mistaken. ((I'm just going to say that this was meant to be before the last 4 posts for my own sake)) Love? Seriously? That's why we're here??James didn't quite know what to make of that matter of fact. He thought it quite strange and disturbing, really. It was almost like his parents trying to set him up all over again, and that was the last thing the blue-haired man wanted. But the fact that they had to find someone that matched the key and lock they all had respectively gotten did pique his interest a bit. How were they supposed to find their matching person? For that matter, how were they supposed to know when they had found them? Before James could ask, he felt a sort of jabbing against his chest that successfully pulled his attention away from Aphrodite. A grunt followed, and before he knew it he was looking about to see who had decided to get his attention so suddenly. When James got his answer, he was naturally surprised. Lo and behold, his partner was standing right by him and appeared quite satisfied with herself. Needless to say, James was quite pleased by this development. He hadn't thought he would see anyone familiar other than the blue-haired twerp that apparently had been invited to the island as well. "Jessie! I didn't think I'd be seeing you here. I'm glad there's at least someone I know here other than that twerp over there." James said. He didn't think he needed to indicate Dawn. After all, she was the only 'twerp' present at the moment. Who else could he have been referring to?

"I have no idea, Rainbow Dash," Twilight said, raising a hoof to gesture to the humans, "I've never seen such creatures before. Never! I haven't even come across them in my books!" She put her hoof back on the ground and turned from Flim, looking at Dash with a curious look on her face. "Dash, you got a lock too? This woman says we need to find out true loves here." She shook her head. "I don't quite understand myself," she mused, "I know I can find something about this 'goddess' in my books, I just know it." She placed her saddlebag on the ground and started to rummage through it.
"No, no, mythical creatures maybe? I've never seen such creatures before!" She placed all four hooves on the ground again and frowned. Turning back to Rainbow Dash she shook her purple mane.
"Perhaps we should listen patiently to what they have to say Rainbow." She said this knowing full well her friend couldn't be patient about anything.

"Well, looky here, then." Flim ignored Twilight Sparkle's comment on the farm and dashed, so that he was between the two mares. "She says there be more of the equine variety coming to this prestigious establishment, and here are two of the finest-looking fillies I have ever seen." Truth be told, he remembered these two, but he was putting up and act.
He turned around and lowered his head, lowering his voice as well. "Now, listen up, in all honesty, I admit my brother and I might have made... a few complications, though I wouldn't say it was a con." He shook his head. "However, than isn't the problem here and now. These creatures call themselves humans. And that one," he darted his eyes quickly in Aphrodite's direction, hoping his drift came across, "she seems to be some sort of a leader or such. Truth be told, though, it's like my sisters Sham and Scam used to say, there isn't a single thing more crooked than a eighty-nine degree right angle."
He cleared his throat as he held up his key, making it look a lot more like he was filling the fillies in on what they might have missed. "Anyways, as you can see, you have locks. I have a key. I'd really like to figure out what any of this has to do with love. It all seems suspect to me, but if it's the real deal, it seems like a lucurative idea. Besides, something tells me we ain't getting anywhere until we crack the code of this curious conundrum personified in brass."
He stood up and took a few steps towards the figure who obviously opened the mansion. "Now, out of curiosity, is there anyplace more suitable for the quadrapedal entourage we make that might be better designed for our different way of living than humans?" He gave a wide, polite smile.

Dakota then saw a... talking toaster? Yes, that was it. As nonsense as it was, it just wasn't polite at all to randomly ask how come a toaster could talk. The red-furred canine instead focused on being friendly and greeting back said toaster. "Hello", she said, with a smile, "And I wish I knew what am I doing here. I honestly am about as lost as anyone else here." She stated. Dakota had avoided gender references because... how could she tell a toaster's gender anyways? "I am, um, my name's Dakota." She introduced herself, "Pleased to mett you."
The female's crown then turned around to meet her brother's face inches away from her own. Her smile widened into a sincerely happy one. She hadn't seen Dingo in a long while. "Hey, Dingo!" She greated eagerly, "I am guessing we are as lost as us?" She asked, looking at the toaster and then at her brother again.
-----
"True loves? Yuck." Femme pegasus stated with an irritated huff. "Listent patiently? Twi, that isn't giving us any answer! We should just go to-" And then she got interrupted by Flim's arrival. She remembered the cider-making pony too well for his own good. "Psh, dude, that comment sounded faker than... than when you guys dressed as Mare-do-Well to 'teach me a lesson'" She stated with a playful chuckle as the male came between them.
Any other day, Rainbow would just have brushed the stallion's comment off and just go on chatting with Twilight, but he was speaking interesting words. "Humans, you say? What a weird name they've got!" Rainbow-maned equine stated as their conversation went on. Magenta eyes were dragged to Aphrodite as Flim mentioned she was rhe leader. This got stranger every second.
"Speak clearely" Rainbow demanded with a huff at the complex vocabulary Flim was using, "We're all friends here, so go easy." She stated. Truth be told, they weren't friends, but it seemed like something clever to ally with Flim for the time being.

Just then there was Orange Filly who had walked up. She was interested in meeting more people. But just then she heard the voices of Rainbow and Twilight. She was beyond happy especially that Rainbow Dash was there. THE Rainbow Dash! In her opinion the greatest Pegasus in the world.
"Yeah, love stinks! It's all for sissy , girly ponies. Rainbow is a athlete, who needs true love when you're the most talented Pegasus in all of Cloudesdale?" Scootaloo said her voice echoing what Rainbow had said and you could see it in her eyes that she really wanted to impress her role model. "Oh, Hi, Miss Twilight." Scootaloo finally said politely.

"Please to meet you too Dakota." Toaster smiled back at the wolf-dog. The second thing that she said didn't make the humanoid toaster feel much better about the situation. If she didn't know why there were here, then who did? "Same, here, I just went to bed a normal toaster, then I woke up like this." he said gesturing his hand towards his metal body.
But before the teenager could say more, another husky dog came into the scene, since they already knew each other, Toaster assumed that they were siblings or something. "Yeah, I guess it does look like were all lost." he chuckled back with a weak smile.

"Hello Scootaloo," Twilight said, peering up at Flim and frowning, "We live similarly to these...er...humans, don't we? We live in houses and such?" Tail whipping back and forth she ignored his comment about being the finest fillies he'd ever seen and turned her head towards Dash.
"Rainbow, he has a point," she said, raising a hoof for emphasis, "We gotta figure out what's going on and I don't think this Princess Celestia wanna be is going to tell us what's what." Normally she wasn't so suspicious but Twilight didn't seem to trust this 'human' with the pink glow. She frowned and lowered her hoof. "If Flim's the only stallion here with any sense...even if he doesn't MAKE sense...he's going to have to help us."
She pulled out a book. "This book tells us all there is to know about love, perhaps we can find something about her and lock and keys in here!" She hummed as she thumbed through the pages.

Love? That was what they were gathered together for? Hiccup groaned inwardly at that idea. He didn't need help finding someone to love. As far as he knew, Astrid loved him. She had to! He had scared the hell out of her when he'd gotten hurt (not to mention brushing with death; if not for Toothless, he probably wouldn't be alive) going toe-to-toe with the Green Death, and he was fairly certain that the kiss she had given him when he'd awoken from his unconscious state had been a true kiss. Why would he need help if Astrid most assuredly cared for him? Hiccup didn't understand the logic behind why he had been invited to the island.
"What if we think we've already found someone that likes us back home? Are you sure you didn't bring any of us here by mistake?" Hiccup asked. Emerald eyes darted around from side to side as if he was looking for someone, but disappointment filled his eyes when he realized that he couldn't see any indication that the blonde Viking was there. No Astrid. Maybe... maybe she hadn't gotten an invitation. So what was the point of his being there?

"come and play with me Dakota!" he barks happily. white front paws slap the ground in play
